Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2026

By using NumeralQ, you agree to the following terms. They're written to be clear and honest — not to obscure things in legal language.

1. What NumeralQ Is

NumeralQ is a free information and referral service for homeowners planning home improvement projects. We provide cost estimates based on local market data, and we offer a contractor matching service that connects homeowners with licensed local contractors.

NumeralQ is not a licensed contractor, not a construction company, and does not perform or supervise any construction work.

2. Cost Estimates Are Informational Only

All cost ranges and estimates provided on NumeralQ are informational in nature. They are based on regional market data and are intended to help homeowners understand typical price ranges for planning purposes. They are not quotes, not guarantees, and not contracts.

Actual project costs vary based on your specific home, your specific contractor, current material availability, permitting requirements, site conditions, and many other factors. NumeralQ makes no warranty — express or implied — that any project will cost within the range shown on our site.

Always obtain multiple itemized written quotes from licensed contractors before committing to any home improvement project. Never rely solely on an online estimate, including ours.

3. Contractor Referral Service

When you submit a quote request through NumeralQ, you are requesting that we share your contact information with contractors in our network who may be able to assist with your project. By submitting a request, you:

  • Consent to be contacted by local contractors by phone, email, or text message regarding your project inquiry
  • Understand that NumeralQ is acting as a referral service only
  • Acknowledge that NumeralQ does not guarantee contractor availability, response time, or pricing
  • Understand that any contract for work is between you and the contractor directly — NumeralQ is not a party to it
  • Acknowledge that NumeralQ does not guarantee contractor availability in your specific area

4. Contractor Vetting Disclaimer

NumeralQ verifies that contractors in our network hold active state licenses and general liability insurance at the time of onboarding. However:

  • We do not continuously monitor license or insurance status — verify current coverage directly with the contractor before authorizing work
  • We do not guarantee contractor workmanship, reliability, or compliance with local building codes
  • NumeralQ is not liable for any disputes, damages, or losses arising from work performed by referred contractors

Before authorizing any work, always verify current licensing through your state contractor licensing board and request proof of active general liability and workers' compensation insurance.

5. Financing Information Disclaimer

NumeralQ is not a lender and does not issue loans, lines of credit, or any financing products of any kind. Monthly payment examples and APR estimates shown on this site are informational illustrations only — they are not offers of credit and do not represent actual loan terms.

When financing options are shown or made available through NumeralQ, they are provided by independent third-party lending partners. NumeralQ does not control lender eligibility criteria, interest rates, loan terms, or approval decisions. Actual financing terms are subject to lender review and approval based on your individual creditworthiness and circumstances.

Checking financing options may involve a soft credit inquiry from a third-party lender, which does not affect your credit score. NumeralQ itself does not perform credit checks of any kind. For full details, see our Financing Disclosure page.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NumeralQ and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Use of or reliance on cost estimates from this site
  • Work performed by contractors referred through this site
  • Errors or omissions in our pricing data
  • Any contractor's failure to perform, complete, or warranty their work
  • Financing decisions made by or through third-party lending partners

7. Permitted Use

You may use NumeralQ for personal, non-commercial home improvement planning purposes. The content on NumeralQ — including cost data, written guides, and methodology documentation — is proprietary. Reproduction, scraping, or commercial use of our content without written permission is prohibited.
